a few words about us
Asimion Inc., is a medical device spin-off of Oramic LabsTM, the technology incubator component of Silicon Valley based Oramic, LLC. Asimion was formed to further develop and commercialize medical applications based on a novel antimicrobial processing of materials.

Utilizing a proprietary durable coating process, Asimion is developing a disposable medical device for a novel topical treatment of a prevalent infectious disease. In 2009, over 11.5 million patients around the world can benefit from the Asimion modality; a market with an estimated size of $12.8 billion.

The company is incorporated in Delaware and has its office and laboratories in Mountain View, California.

ASIMION FOCUS

The use of a unique and highly effective antimicrobial agent, along with a durable coating process (for applying such agent onto a surface or embedding it into a material), provide Asimion with an incredibly powerful method of imparting a broad spectrum of antimicrobial properties on a variety of materials.

Initial in-vitro testing results indicate that the Asimion antimicrobial technology is far more active than other antimicrobial products (including antibiotics) and technologies.

The highly effective antimicrobial properties of the treated surfaces renders them not only as bacteriostatic (prevent the growth of bacteria), but also as highly effective bacteriocidal agents (agents that can kill existing bacteria) capable of addressing massive infections in a very short period of time.

We have defined a product and technology roadmap for a platform technology with possible multiple medical and commercial applications.

As an added source of revenue, this platform technology can be applied to existing medical products that require antimicrobial treatment:
These can vary from finished catheters to implantable medical devices, such as drug delivery catheters (Central Venous Catheters, (CVC)), urinary catheters (Foley catheters for Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) protection), shunts and drainage catheters, artificial hearts and ventricular assist devices, orthopedic implants, pacemaker leads, and any device where one would want to prevent microbial formations.

We are actively pursuing licensing of this technology to leading medical device companies for incorporating it into their existing product lines.
